Karen Lema

Executive Functioning Coaching Service

Karen Lema earned her Master’s Degree from the University of Massachusetts, Boston, in Moderate Special Needs. She has 30+ years of teaching experience at the K-12 levels, in addition to experience teaching graduate and undergraduate levels as an adjunct professor. As an adjunct, she’s had the opportunity to teach in different formats (i.e., face-to-face, hybrid, and online) and has provided private tutoring at all levels. In addition to her classroom instruction, she has also presented many professional development workshops.

Karen is licensed by the Massachusetts Department of Education to provide Professional Development Classes for teacher re-certification, which is required every five years. Working with individuals with special needs has always been her passion. Karen helps individuals with executive functioning challenges learn the skills they need to navigate their day-to-day life by using many modes of delivery, including drawing on past experiences, making the content applicable to their current assignments, and differentiating instruction. Her main goal is for her clients to see themselves as capable learners. Karen looks forward to making a difference for her clients and, as a result, helping them know they can be successful in leaving each session with more tools in their pockets to find success.

In her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking, cycling, XC skiing, and most of all, spending time with her family.
