Meghan Lyons, ATR-BCMental Health Counselor
Meghan Lyons is a Nationally Board Certified Art Therapist who specializes in working with children and adolescents. She obtained her Masters from The School of Visual Arts and her undergraduate degree from Smith College. Meghan completed her clinical internship at Cooke Center Academy, a special education high school in New York City, providing individual and group art therapy sessions to adolescents diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Prior to working at ICCD, Meghan has worked with children and adolescents at Valley Collaborative Elementary, Middle, and High School where she served as an art therapist. Meghan uses a holistic and strengths-based approach when working with clients. Her practice focuses on the intrinsic belief that clients become their own most effective healer and that art can act as a fundamental tool to foster this growth. Meghan draws from a variety of treatment models including cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy, and expressive therapies.
