Sarah Markowitz, M.S. CCC-SLPSpeech-Language Pathologist
Sarah Markowitz received her Masters of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Boston University and currently holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). Sarah also holds licenses in speech-language pathology from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and a professional specialist teacher license for her employment within public schools. Sarah has experience working both in the pediatric clinic setting, as well as in public schools, evaluating and treating children 2-18 years of age. Most recently, Sarah has been working full time in an elementary school in the Greater Boston area. Sarah has worked with children displaying a variety of speech and language challenges including articulation disorders, receptive and expressive language disorders, fluency disorders, executive functioning weaknesses, auditory processing disorders, and social-pragmatic challenges. She also has worked with children who present with significant diagnoses including Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, Specific Learning Disabilities, and other neuro-developmental and chromosomal disorders. Thanks to her background in the clinic and public schools, Sarah has experience working in both individual and group formats and in a variety of functional settings. Sarah is PROMPT trained, and enjoys working with children demonstrating speech sound challenges. In her current full time job, Sarah has worked with students in a substantially separate classroom who are communicating using both high-tech and low-tech augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).
In her free time, Sarah enjoys horseback riding, cooking, being around dogs, and reading thriller & mystery books!
