Infant & Toddler Evaluation
Early Childhood Assessment: Neuropsychological Evaluation for Infant/Toddlers
The neuropsychological evaluation for children ages one through three is key in providing diagnostic clarification, establishing functioning across domains, guiding treatment practice, and demonstrating eligibility for special education services. If a child is experiencing difficulties, and there are delays in developmental milestones and/or concerns that a neurodevelopmental condition such as autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is the root cause, neuropsychological assessment can confirm or rule out that hypothesis and allow for access to empirically validated treatments.
Collaborative Care and Consultation
As part of an integrated healthcare care team, we are available to collaborate with other medical and healthcare providers and assist in monitoring your child’s response to treatment and development over time. In particular, our medical department offers a comprehensive medical approach to special needs. Occupational and speech/language therapy departments can help foster communication, socialization/play, and activities of daily living at each stage of development.
Additionally, neuropsychologists at ICCD are available to collaborate with families in the long term. A family may choose to involve the clinician in the special education process by inviting them to observe the child at their school, daycare, or ABA program and/or participate in a team meeting. We are also available to consult with Early Intervention specialists, teachers, therapists, and other healthcare professionals involved in your child’s care.
