Dr. Satterfield is a licensed psychologist who earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Indiana University.  She has experience conducting neuropsychological evaluations to children and adolescents with a broad range of developmental conditions, learning disabilities, and other psychiatric issues.  She completed her postdoctoral pediatric neuropsychology fellowship at ICCD in 2013 under the supervision of Dr. Rafael Castro. Prior to her time at ICCD, Dr. Satterfield completed a one-year, APA accredited pre-doctoral internship at a community mental health center, where she spent much of her training providing individual therapy to children and adolescents with a range of diagnoses, with a particular focus on clients who had experienced trauma, as well as children who had an autism spectrum disorder (ASD) diagnosis. Her previous clinical experiences include providing school-based therapy services to children in elementary schools, facilitating social skills groups for children and adolescents, and administering a range of psychological assessments to both children and adults.  Additionally, Dr. Satterfield has also received specialized training as a family therapist, using a systemic treatment approach with adolescents involved in the juvenile justice system.

At ICCD, Dr. Satterfield provides comprehensive neuropsychological and educational assessments of children and adolescents with a variety of presenting challenges, including executive functioning deficits, social and emotional challenges, and learning difficulties. Her approach to assessment is gentle and supportive, recognizing the importance of collaboration and empathy when working with families.  She aims to provide targeted and individualized recommendations that can help her clients be successful and thrive.

In her free time, Dr. Satterfield enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, as well as yoga, cooking, and travel.
