Salma Ali is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor dedicated to helping children, adolescents, and families manage difficult emotions and develop effective coping strategies. She earned her Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Northeastern University with a concentration in Child and Adolescent Psychology. Her graduate training emphasized child development, family systems, and evidence-based practices for supporting youth across a variety of settings.
Before joining ICCD, Salma worked in community, school, in-home, and outpatient environments, providing both individual and group therapy. These experiences gave her a strong foundation in supporting diverse populations and collaborating with families, teachers, and multidisciplinary teams. She has worked with a wide range of diagnoses and presenting concerns, including ADHD, anxiety, depression, adjustment disorders, behavioral difficulties, and challenges with social skill development.
Salma’s approach is warm, creative, and culturally responsive. She integrates play and art-based interventions alongside cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and mindfulness-based strategies to meet each client’s unique needs. She believes therapy is most effective when it is collaborative and tailored, helping children and families build skills that extend beyond the therapy room. Salma is passionate about creating safe, affirming spaces where clients feel respected, empowered, and supported in their growth.
