Ms. Burek currently directs the educational/tutorial division of ICCD. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in elementary and special education and a Master’s degree in Learning Disabilities from Boston College. Prior to joining the practice, Kathy was the Director of Academic Skills at Milton Academy, an independent K-12 school in Milton, Massachusetts. As a faculty member of the English Department, she taught Language Skills Courses and Rhetoric. She taught in public schools for eight years and established resource services and served on CORE evaluation teams. Currently she works with parents and school systems on meeting the learning needs of students. Ms. Burek works individually and in groups with students ranging from preschool to graduate school on issues of reading, literacy, organizational strategies, writing and study skills. She and her husband have three sons.
